JUNIOR AGE GROUP
YEAR 2 - YEAR 4
All our classes have a 4 week trial, so that each student gets a good feel for the classes, the studio and their teachers.
Starting your child on their dance journey is exciting and full of wonder. Let us take them through their first steps and beyond, with our passion and dedication to the best training and support the PATA family can provide.
JUNIOR BALLET
Thursday 4:30-5:30pm
Saturday 11:00-12:00PM
A class full of fun, learning and friends. Students are encouraged and supported to find their independence while learning through play and movement. They master their fine and gross motor skills, learn to balance with confidence, listen for rhythms and tells stories with their imagination.
We introduce the Royal Academy of Dance Ballet syllabus to begin building technique which they can explore further as the work towards examinations and shows.
Ballet improves confidence, general physical and mental health and co-ordination whilst giving the opportunity for expression and communication through music and movement.
JUNIOR ACRO
Monday 4:30-5:30pm
Saturday 12:00-1:00pm
Our Acro Dance classes promote co-ordination and stamina and contain exercises to strengthen, extend and loosen the body to increase flexibility. Acro Dance is an art form specifically designed for dancers. Acro has softer, more lyrical-looking lines than floor gymnastics, with emphasis on lengthening “through” the tricks and holding beautiful balances with interesting variations.
With the added element of Acro, students can learn acrobatics to add into their dance routines, starting with simple stretches and balances working towards more advance moves and tumbling as they progress.
We follow the Acrobatic Arts and BBO Acro Dancer syllabuses, are fully certified in teaching Acro dance and we are an official AcroPad centre so we can always offer the best to our students.
Friday 5:00-6:00pm
A fun, dynamic dance class for energetic students.
All of our Jazz classes follow the BBO Dance syllabus aiding students to build stamina, flexibility and coordination with a focus on creating individual style. Jazz is one of the core disciplines and foundations of dance. Students learn to develop their kicks, leaps and turns while improving their performance skills.
Students also learn unique and inspiring choreography to pop songs and have the chance to 'freestyle' with their friends to their favourite songs.
Our Jazz classes are designed to build confidence, encourage individual style and build the foundations of technique required for dance.
JUNIOR TAP
Wednesday 5:00-6:00pm
Tap dance is a form of dance characterised by using the sounds of tap shoes striking the floor as a form of percussion and teaches the student all about rhythm. The sound is made by shoes that have a metal "tap" on the heel and toe.
Fast and loud, fun and energetic!
Big Musical Theatre productions like Mary Poppins, 42nd Street and Anything Goes still have tap at the heart of their choreography. Performers like The Syncladies have given tap a modern touch and make it look fresh!
JUNIOR MUSICAL THEATRE
Tuesday 4:00-5:00pm
